For the 2022 Lunar New Year, League of Legends wanted to create a series of online events around their game universe in APAC.
In partnership with BBH Singapore, we produced two different experiences around Sett and Teemo characters.
For the Sett experience, we collaborated with Mr.Three, a famous breakdance Chinese influencer. We created different dance moves and recorded them using Motion Capture technology, making Sett dance an interactive online experience for users to share as new year greetings. To unveil this experience, we also created a behind the scene teaser film beautifully showing the making of the dance.
In the Teemo experience, we turned him into a fortune teller. Through an interactive online experience, users could walk toward Teemo's house in the heart of the Lunar village. Teemo would then read their fortune in an explosive experience inviting everyone to share it online.
In this project, I was in charge of the Creative Ideas, Art Direction and quality control of all the videos, 3D animations, Motion Capture, and Live action.

Our behind the scene teaser features Mr.Three.
The story show Sett and Mr.Three meeting in the Motion Capture studio, dancing together until they become one. It metaphorically depicts the motion capture process while teasing a few dance moves and inviting users to the online experience.

In the Sett online experience, the user picks three dance moves between eight options and a greeting message. These dance moves are combined with the greeting, creating a customized video to share online.

To make the experience more attractive, each dance move, camera angles, and movements are unique and tailored made.
Each of them starts and ends with the same camera position and dance pose, allowing us to link them together smoothly.
These short videos mixed by the website backend allowed us to generate a smooth customized music video based on user choices.

For the Teemo experience we created a 3D animation of Teemo's village and front door where he welcome users and tell their fortune in his own explosive and festive way.
